I'm officially...old.

Jake started preschool today. He ate his breakfast, chose his outfit, picked his snack, packed his Cars backpack (thanks Fredericks), calmly walked out the door, and drove himself away into the sunset. Er, sunrise. Alright, I was the one who drove, but it feels like he just grew up about 20 years today.
He walked into the classroom, said "see ya later, Mom" and that was that. I'm realizing what it will be like to be a mother of boys, because on the car ride home after school I asked him to give me all the details, and he said, "it was fun." Did you have a great time? "Yep." What did you do? "Played and stuff." Did you make any friends? "Yep." Seriously, could you give me more than a one word answer? "Ok." What else did you do? "We painted."

There you have it, folks. He had fun. He met friends. He painted.

At least he's not too old to yell, "MAMA!!" and run to give me a hug when I picked him up after school. Kinda doubting that will last through middle school. But here's hoping.

And so it begins... Even my daughter has become the expert at the one word answers. argh!
That "MAMA" has got to warm you all the way down to your toes.

I swear he looks like a teenager in that first picture. Frightening!
(such a cutie pie!)
It does go by fast, doesn't it? It seems like just yesterday we invited you to be a "special speaker" at Amy's sleepover. Good times....

Do you know what I LOVE about blogging? You have this totally precious memory all documented now. (so much more painless than say, scrapbooking) And we got to enjoy it too. He's adorable!!

What a big kid! So old and mature! How was Ty during the time his big brother was gone?

The joy of having boys...those were pretty much the answers I got all the way up through College...except for the painting that is...oh and then they add "I don't know..." I love that one...because I don't know either. Well, they do grow up...and when they are over 30 and have wives...well, then they have learned that even Moms are OK to talk to in longer sentences!! Fun stuff...

So much fun isn't it, watching our kids grow up and do new things. Keirsten just started preschool also, it was a bit sad, just me and Sierra in the car driving home with out her. What school is he going to? I know life is just getting more hectic, but we seriously need to get together soon!

He will probably still yell "MAMA!" and give you a big hug in middle school, just not in front of his friends. Although Spencer still runs and gives me hugs at school and he's in 2nd grade. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed together!

That 2nd pic is awesome :)

PS. Ummm... if you're old...ummm...I really don't think you are old. In fact, I have it on pretty good authority, and all my sources say, you're not old. Seriously.

I hope you feel better. I do.
