An ode to the toilet

Some of the most terrifying moments in my life have begun with hearing the words "I pooped." If you're in the mood to reminisce with me, click here.
Today one of the most beautiful moments in my life started with those same words. Ty had hopped up onto the toilet by himself without my knowledge and did his business like he'd been doing it for years. For the last few weeks it's been hit and miss (pun intended), and I've always had to pretty much force the, um, bowel issue. But I haven't changed a dirty diaper in days. For weeks I encouraged, reminded, bribed, nagged. Today I did none of that. And the sound of the toilet flushing and the words, "bye bye, poop!" never sounded so good.

Glorious. Diaper is spelled h-i-s-t-o-r-y at my house.

Diaper is spelled f-o-r-e-v-e-r at our house. How old is Ty again? Nina will be 3 in January...

So of course since I posted and completely jinxed myself, I've had to change 2 dirty diapers since. Jake was barely 2 when he kicked the diaper...Ty will be 3 in March. I thought the first was supposed to be the hardest??

My last two were completely old enough for me to result to guilt-tripping them into poopin' on the pot. We're talking major guilt. Intentional gagging. Mommy thinks this is so nasty. You are much too big a boy to do this. Doesn't this feel nasty on your bottom?Guilt. It finally worked.
